It has been around for the past three years, but let's be honest. Who would have thought that editing a video would be as easy as sending your files to an editor, logging into your computer and watching the edits live, from anywhere in the world? Welcome to Virtual Editing.

I have been blessed to be around for more than a decade editing and seeing the amazing advancements in technology. Editing from home, online with Producers is a wonderful experience from both sides. You don't have to commute, fight traffic, pay for gas, get lunch out and so many other "day to day grind" things, when you are able to stay home an oversee an edit.

It is also a wonderful way for a television network to save money. You don't have to deal with the upfront cost of costly editing gear, or you can save space by having editors work virtually.

Welcome to an amazing new world I would like to share with you. Here is how it works:
  1. Make sure you have at least a fast DSL or Cable connection for internet
  2. Download the free Skype software for virtual video and audio conferencing
  3. Make sure your videos are Apple ProRes HQ or the highest quality H264, Avid DNxHD or talk with me about the compatibility of your file format (encoding for edit charges do apply)
  4. Buy a hard drive or have me send you one for your media (over 500 GB, best if you have your own)
  5. You place your footage, pics, voice overs and all other elements on the drive that you need for the edit (please keep original copies. I do not guarantee the hard drive and it's contents once it leaves your house - just reality)
  6. I get the hard drive, check the contents and make sure that we are ready to edit
  7. You schedule a time for editing
  8. We log in and edit virtually, in real time
  9. You get a wonderfully editing project back in the mail on DVD, hard drive or online download

The IndieCross Life Group is a special place where Christian Artists can come together, connect and grow. With a weekly bible reading to meditate on, the group talks about their lives in Hollywood and what the verses mean to them. Everyone shares their lives, passions and projects. Together, the group supports one another and finds ways to help each other reach their goals.

Faith
There is something to be said about staying the course, in one's beliefs, no matter how hard it gets. Hollywood is a hard place. Over twice the normal price of living and everyone and anyone is out here to do what you came to do. Having a good group of Christians that are there to support you through your highs and lows is a PRICELESS thing. At the "Life Group", we support each other, talk about issues and come up with biblical truths to help us through the week. Family
When you spend quality time with a group of like-minded individuals, a family begins to take shape. Each week we facilitate a wonderful caring "family" of artists that are training, learning and growing together. It is nice to know that when the "going gets tough", the family is here to listen. Most of us moved away from our families to pursue our "dreams". This is our piece of home. Welcome.

Film
Film is a complicated process. Every part has its place and knowing the workflows, how a film is made, the tools and the trades is what makes a great filmmaking team. At the IndieCross Life Group, Industry Professionals and Beginners a like come together to support each other. The experienced train others, the group helps out on projects and everyone grows together.

This is much bigger than a film studio. This is a faith-based family of support for all Artists living in Los Angeles.
